After-School Program

Transportation provided from school to our farm in Loudoun County, Virginia. Your child will enjoy time with friends while developing relationships with horses and humans in a safe non-riding program.  They will conduct hands-on STEAM lessons and enrich their math and science skills.  Homework help is provided by a certified teacher.

Our non-riding Life Skills, STEAM lessons and Literacy program is customized for each participating school. We meet 1 day per week for 6 weeks, conducting many awesome lessons with our horses as the teachers.

Poppy's Playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for 2 - 5 year old children accompanied by a chaperone to participate in non-riding group play activities with our miniature horse, Poppy.

Who Is This Program For?

Our non-riding after-school program is for 1st through 5th grade students looking for a fun, interactive program after-school that develops friendships and confidence all while feeling a sense of accomplishment in a safe and nurturing environment. 

Life Skills

Our once a week non-riding after school program is for 1st through 5th grade students looking for a fun, interactive program after school that develops friendships and confidence all while feeling a sense of accomplishment in a safe and nurturing environment. Life skills and STEAM lessons every week.

STEAM

Each session will conduct a Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math lesson with our horses.  Each lesson is designed to reinforce math and science concepts covered in the classroom. Our horses make learning come alive!

Homework Help

Each after-school session begins with snack and homework completion, project help (if necessary), organization help, and agenda review.  All is supervised by a certified teacher.

Transportation & Schedule

We provide transportation from school for our students. Each 6-week program meets one day per week from end-of-school day until 6:30 pm.

Who Is This Program For?

Our non-riding Life Skills, STEAM lessons, and Literacy program is a perfect fit for private schools in the surrounding Northern Virginia area.  We work with your Kindergarten - 8th grade teachers to customize the one day per week-six week program. We help your teachers reach many objectives in Math, Science, Literacy, and Life Skills-all with our horses as the teachers!

Life Skills

Our Equine Assisted Learning utilizes horses and their unique communication style to reinforce life skills such as: communication, confidence, listening skills, collaboration, empathy, problem solving, adaptability, and trust. Each weekly lesson focuses on one objective and builds on the previous lessons creating a framework of life skills for each student.

STEAM

Our Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math lessons are conducted with our horses.  Each lesson is designed to reinforce lessons and objectives covered in the classroom. Our horses make learning come alive!

Literacy

Each of our weekly lessons has a literacy component. We focus on the objective for the day, the "ah-ha" moment and peer collaboration to reinforce the learning.

Who Is This Program For?

Poppy's Playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for 2-4 year old children accompanied by an adult to enhance their communication skills, physical confidence, and social skills while enjoying sensory enriching activities with our miniature horse, Poppy.

Interactive Play for Toddlers

  • Singing and Dancing the Hokey Pokey with Poppy
  • Climbing Up and Over Hay Bale Mountain
  • Painting Poppy with Paint Brushes and Water
  • Asking Poppy to "Walk-on" and "Whoa" during Red Light Green Light

Who Is This Program For?

Our curriculum enrichment/fieldtrip program is for grades K-8 with class sizes up to 27 students interested in a fieldtrip experience that enriches what is taught in the classroom.
